Technology not only connects people, but it also connects all their apps with their bank accounts. Shopping is just a single click away. Technology reduces the steps for people to purchase what they see online. Advertisements, cute stuff, nice colors, cool pictures, and collectible figurines catch viewers’ attention in seconds. There is no longer a need to open a wallet and get a card out. This action has reduced the human process of thinking twice about getting something. That voice that asks: do you really need it? Is it a financially responsible decision? Are all the bills paid? Would you have enough money for tomorrow’s lunch?

Think Twice!

What is really a necessity? What is your goal for the month/year?

  • Having a brand-new phone? That one-year-old phone is still working and has not yet been paid off.

  • Buying all the little figurines? Filling up space, creating visible noise that will not let your mind breathe.

  • Shopping the entire clothes department? The closet is full of clothing that you have worn once.

Find Balance!

  • The money that you are spending without a second thought can be saved up for a vacation, a nice meal, or just buying something that you really need.

  • The items in your online shopping cart might not be as important as you think. Leave them for a few days in the cart. Then go back and see if you still have the same level of emotion as before.

  • The entire figurine collection does not need to be bought at the same time. You can reward yourself after a week or a month of hard work.

  • The pantry does not have to be completely filled every week. Only purchase what is necessary, so food will not go to waste.

Do It For You, Your Family, And The Planet!

Reduce, recycle, and reuse!

  • If you have not used an object for a year, maybe it is time to give it another use or donate it.

  • If you have a broken object, maybe it is time to throw it away.

  • If something does not have the same sentimental level as before, and it is just clouding your space, maybe it’s time to give it up to donation too.

Do NOT overcrowd your surroundings; it will give you more clarity for daily decisions, management of tasks, and a more peaceful mind. It also helps your family to grow in an organized enviroment with space to play and relax.

The Federal Debt Statistics show that, “The size of the total consumer debt grew nearly five times in size from 1980 ($355 billion) to 2001 ($1.7 trillion). As of August 2020, consumer debt totaled $4.15 trillion.”
